Dana Spade

Ministry Assistant

Dana has been attending the First Baptist Church since the age of four when she, along with her parents Lawrence (Buck) and Yvonne Miller and brother Larry found a home here. She has been an active member since she was saved and baptized in April of 1967.

The role of secretary hasn’t always been her job. She helped in the daily farming practices on Fellers Farm before transitioning to work at Burlington High School. She worked at Burlington until she felt God calling her to the role of secretary in February of 2005. Dana felt called to take the position as secretary because she would be able to show her compassion for people and their needs. She loves working and being with people and has a strong calling for children’s ministry.

She married Steve Spade on February 16, 1985 in the church here. They have enjoyed four children who have grown up in the church and attended the youth group. Their children Brian (1986), Trent (1987), Kyle (1990) and Kelli (1993) all felt God’s calling to different aspects of ministry and missions. God called Steve and Dana to adopt Kelli after picking her up from the hospital when she was just two days old. All along they have felt that it was God’s plans.

Dana enjoys spending time with her four grandchildren Anaiah (2011), Norah (2013), Zayden (2013), Kenzlynn (2015) and Sawyer (2020),  quilting and camping with family.

You can connect with Dana via email at dana.spade@fbccherokee.com.

They are the parents of two children; Dr. John Fellers and his wife Courtney of Manhattan, Kansas and Karen Howell and her husband Rodney of Birmingham, Alabama.  They are delighted to be grand parents of four children, Madison and Camille Fellers and Jay and Joshua Howell.

You can often find her somewhere in Northwest Oklahoma, cheering her kiddos on at one of their activities! In her free time, she enjoys a day at the lake, long-walks through Hobby Lobby and spending time with family and friends!

Mike Jantz

Media Ministry Coordinator

Mike serves as our Media Ministry Coordinator and takes care of the Audio, Video and Technology used in all areas of ministry.  He loves spending time with his wife Beverly, their grandchildren and making all kinds of DIY technology projects around the church.

Before Mike joined the staff in 2017 as our Media Ministry Coordinator he had in one form or another served in the A/V Booth and taken care of the computers and technology in the church since 1998.

Mike is married to Beverly and they have three grown children, Kari, Kevin and Joshua and eleven grandchildren, Toby, Haylee, Chloe, Keira, Kennedy, Merl, Roy, Nathen, Charlie, Piper and Leon.  Mike graduated from Cherokee High School in 1982 and married Beverly Ivy that same year.  They moved to Oklahoma City in 1987 while Mike was going to X-Ray School then after graduation they stayed there till 1990 when they moved to Pampa, TX where Mike worked as a X-Ray Tech at Coronado Hospital. After working two jobs at the hospital, X-Ray Tech and Computer Tech for around a year, in 1992 he accepted the position of Director of Information Services for the hospital.  In 1995 he transferred to Beaumont Regional Medical Center in Beaumont Texas. There he managed three hospital IT departments along with multiple other areas within the area.  In 1997 the desire to come home to Cherokee and raise their children had them pack up and move back.  Now days if he’s not at the church you will find him hanging out with his grandchildren and spending time with his family on the farm.
